After 2 Years My Kids are COMING HOME!

After so much bureaucratic RED TAPE and constant bumps in the road and set backs my children are coming home!

Haiti's earthquake is such a devastation but it has also brought hope for so many of the country's children that have been endlessly waiting to come home to their forever families.

It makes you think that if the adoption process is finally moving in the interest of the children, why couldn't they have put them first to begin with and brought them home and saved them from the extra torture that the earthquake has brought...

I won't become bitter or harbor anger. I will except a blessing in the midst of tragedy. MY KIDS ARE COMING home and for that I'm truly grateful!

If you would like to read my FULL adoption page CLICK HERE.

If you would like to find out more about why I adopted and the plight of Haiti before the earthquake read on.

We are currently holding a fundraiser on both pages, but my adoption page has more info so I hope you visit it.

HOW CAN I HELP with EARTHQUAKE RELIEF?

If you would like to contribute to the village (where older children are) or the Creche (where infants to about 7 year olds are)

send funds to: Reach Out to Haiti, 168 Gutbrodt Rd., Melrose, NY 12121 or donate on my CHIP IN WIDGET on the SIDE BAR. Thank you!

Roads are torn apart which will make it hard to get to town and drive up food prices. I heard that the Caribbean Market was completely demolished! We visit that market every time I have been down. Prices are already so high even compared to the USA and now food will only get more expenses. Ruuska Village does not only care for their orphans but they have a community program where they give out free medical care as well as free food and clothing to those in need. By helping Ruuska you are helping many people in Haiti. They also share their fresh water supply with the local neighbors. Please consider donating to the village

You can help out TODAY!

Now is your opportunity to bless the children of Haiti! I leave 9/21 if you would like to contribute any funds this month SEPTEMBER it will go directly to purchase items to take to the children's village and creche (orphanage).

I will be shopping...... for baby formula, canned goods and infant learning toys per the Facilitator's request. You can donate here on the RIGHT column.
I've bought as much I can with my own funds, but we can only do so much alone. Will you consider even donating $5? A can of formula is around $11 a can.
In your note with your contribution put VILLAGE, these funds will not go towards any of our personal expenses, Thanks!

Adoption Update

We just got word that we need to travel ASAP to Haiti to file some adoption docs. We are willing but our bank account is saying another thing! We do not own any credit cards, so we move on cash only. We have $670 in our adoption fund and we owe that much for our I600 paper work to be filed soon.
We are hoping that if we go out to Haiti ASAP we can have the kids home by the end of the year which mean paying for 2 plane tickets this trip and then paying for 3 more tickets by the end of the year. This seems impossible for us right now, but I know with God all things are possible. Please pray God will send His provision like He has this whole process. We've managed to put out over $22000.00 cash without taking out a loan or using a credit card, but now we are flat broke for the process and we are not done yet. If you would like to contribute you can do so on the side bar CHIP IN widget.

Thanks to all of past supporters! :)

Human Trafficking Update

CNN EXCERPT

The report cites the International Labor Organization, which estimates that at least 12.3 million adults and children are victims of forced labor, bonded labor and sex slavery each year.

"This is modern slavery. A crime that spans the globe, providing ruthless employers with endless supply of people to abuse for financial gain," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said as she announced the report..

Hope for Haiti

Sometimes it's hard not to feel the weight of the situation, but I'm happy to see there is a group that is able to see a brighter side of the situation

Many, when visiting Haiti, all they see is poverty and instability. Taking the time to look pass the poverty, Haiti is a country with great potential and filled with opportunities. Haiti Without Borders - Diasponitiative is that call to action that we all have been waiting for.

Stop by and check out the link. Just Click on the group name above

Thanks!

Thanks so much to our APRIL/MAY donors! We are trying to save up to go see our kids again~ We have been in our process one year as of June even though we committed to our children 1.5 years ago and have been paying monthly child care ever since.

The Days Grow Cold for International Adoption

As groups like Human Rights Consultative Committee, UNICEF and Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH) are make it increasingly harder to do International Adoptions. Children around the world will be the ones suffering. Groups like those listed state that it's better for a child to stay in their country of origin, however these kids are not thriving and many are not surviving in their country of origin! I guess they believe it's better for children to live and DIE in their in country of origin!

The following is an article on Madonna's adoption that was denied, because HRCC felt it was better for the orphan she was trying to adopt to be left with family in Africa, even though the child's mother is dead and is now living with a grandmother who can not take care of her. In case the HRCC hasn't heard staying with other family members in Africa in most cases does NOT help these orphaned children, it just promises very very poor circumstances and most times death!

This article is posted by a friend of mine on her blog. It is chastisment by the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH) because a photo was published of a little girl walking across filth barefooted with garbage houses as her backdrop. The RNDDH said, "The RNDDH is dismayed by this debasing publication, not because we are concerned with concealing the truth but because it stigmatizes". HELLO stigmatizes??? As if we around the world are supposed to believe that children in Haiti are NOT POOR, or in feeble circumstances and REALLY need world HELP? We are coming into darker and darker days... Bringing poor orphans into a country does not benefit the government so why not just close the doors? It's hard not to be cynical when you see all the garbage happening on the news these days in politics.
